"To think is easy. To act is hard. But the hardest thing in the world is to act in accordance with your thinking." (Goeth)

It's Winter. Time to stop going out so much and to start coming in, turning on the heater and let the inspirations of a cold and dark world come to you. I've been so busy lately that for the past couple years, I just haven't found time to be on here. With work, school and a social life, it's hard to find any time to sit down and make some art anymore. Now, however, I'm getting serious about it. I'm continually keeping an ideas journal full of my latest ideas, and whenever I see a good quote, hear a good song or see something cool, I write it down. I'm an ideas man. I'm constantly thinking. The mistake I used to make was not writing it down and ending up not going through with it, but now I'm getting them all down.

I used to have an older account here: ~Wilse. I had a very long absence from that, and when I came back, I just wanted something different, so I decided a new designer name and look was what the doctor ordered. As for the name, that is the immediate perception of what my logo looks like. "It looks like some sort of evil rabbit skull or something." So I thouhgt 'why not be as literal as Snakes on a Plane and have a literal title/name. I've stuck with it since.
As you can see I'm gradually getting back into action, I'm participating lots in #thumbshare on dAmn as well as adding more and more to my gallery, though not as fast as I'd hope, still getting stuff in there which is the best part. One may notice also that most of my work so far is for my school, Elizabeth College. That was the mistake I made last year, which was doing too much work for the school and not enough of my own. Though my aspirations are to one day work in the advertising industry, it doesn't need to start at school. That is changing dramatically this year. I'm doing a lot of my own stuff.

I've been full of inspiration lately. I have so many ideas going on and I'm just so excited to get them all happening! My favourite ones so far are my ideas for a Space Scene based on the 5 Japanese Elements of Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Heaven/Void as well as my HUGE project with a large community participation. The idea is to get heaps of people that I both know and don't know to fill one post it note with anything fictional or non-fictional, could be a "Go Away" or a "Call Me" or some hypothetical "Meeting at 4pm". It could even be a drawing. The idea is to compose them all together as a representation of contemporary urban life and how busy it is, using one of the best tools in the business, sticky notes.

Also, major update - I'm slowly learning how to work with Illustrator more. I'm usually using Photoshop, even for vector-looking work, but I'm gradually reading tutorials and learning how to use Illustrator more. I already have the 4 Years Photoshop experience under my belt.

I'm in the progress too of adding all of my old photo manipulations from my old ~Wilse account to my scraps, just for a bit of nostalgia. Be sure to check out my scraps, it is where I will put all of my Works in Progress as well as pictures of me (oh yeah baby) with my art, or my work in use. Also I am sketching more, so maybe I'll put some sketches up, though I'm a shitty drawer.

Current Projects Include:
5 Elements Space Scene - Based on Five Japanese Elements
Opposites
Icons - Coca-Cola, iPod etc.
Chaos - Photo Manipulations
Invasion - Photo Manipulations
Disaster - Photo Manipulations
Post It Notes
School Production: Return to the Forbidden Planet

The only excuse for making a useless thing is that one admires it intensely.
All art is quite useless.
